FAWEZA successfully concluded its End-of-Year Review and Planning Meeting in Siavonga, where FAWEZA members and Partner Institutions from across Zambia gathered to assess the progress made in 2024 and set strategic goals for 2024.

The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on past initiatives, identify challenges, and explore innovative solutions to enhance gender equity in education. Discussions cantered on expanding access for girls, addressing systemic barriers, and improving community engagement.

Participants emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among stakeholders, including policymakers, educators, and communities. They discussed strategies to tackle early marriages, school dropouts, and limited access to resources for girls, PWD and refugees in rural areas, with a focus on leveraging technology, community-driven programs and evidence-based policies to close the gender gap in education.

FAWEZA reaffirmed its commitment to scaling up programs and ensuring education remains a key tool for empowerment and social change. The strategies developed during the workshop will guide its efforts in 2025, as the organization continues working towards a more inclusive and equitable education system for girls and young women in Zambia.
