Are you a young woman or man aged 15 to 25 facing social or economic barriers but dreaming of a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)? The Forum for African Women Educationalists of Zambia (FAWEZA), in partnership with FAWE Africa and the Mastercard Foundation, invites you to explore a life-changing opportunity through the “Second Chance Pathways for Increased Access to Tertiary Education for Marginalized Young Women and Men” program.

This crucial seven (7) year Bursary Support Program, running from 2024 through 2030, aims to engage 1,550 participants who might otherwise experience limited options to tertiary education or lack the finances required. The overall goal is to expand young people’s pathway to dignified and fulfilling work.

We are actively seeking to recruit and provide scholarships to students to take up STEM courses that have high chances of employment. The program offers 1,550 bursaries, broken down into 750 at university level and 800 at Technical Education, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) level.

We prioritize those facing the highest barriers, maintaining a critical gender ratio of 80% female and 20% male to address the gender gap in STEM occupations. Furthermore, up to 15% of participants will be persons with disability and refugees. Affirmative action will be applied to expand the scope of selection for candidates from harder-to-reach areas.

If you are interested in pursuing a STEM-related course but worry about missed education opportunities or course content relevancy, this program provides solutions, including the option to apply for bridging courses or TVET courses if you are late in joining tertiary school (up to 2 years).

Don’t miss the chance to overcome barriers and strengthen your transition to dignified work.
