World Vision Zambia, in partnership with the Education Above All Foundation’s Educate A Child programme and Forum for African Women Educationalists of Zambia (FAWEZA), has trained over 130 teachers, from 37 schools, in the Catch-UP programme benefiting 4,521 learners in Namwala district. The Catch-UP Programme is a remedial learning model that supports learners lagging behind in their studies to ‘catch up’ with their fellow learners.

After-school lessons are set up where teachers reiterate the fundamentals of the critical subjects, including mathematics, in the local language through playing and active involvement. The learners are divided into groups based on how well they comprehend the course material, regardless of age.
