FAWEZA reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive and equitable education by partnering with the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) to commemorate the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Chongwe. The event brought together organizations advocating for the rights and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
As a leader in gender equity and educational access, FAWEZA highlighted the Mastercard Foundation Bursary Program, which reserves 15% of its bursaries for persons with disabilities.
FAWEZA also took part in an interactive exhibition, showcasing its efforts to promote accessible education and gender equity.
The event drew praise from Lusaka Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dr. Alex Mapushi, and Chongwe District Commissioner, Mr. Evans Lupiya, who commended FAWEZA’s role in fostering an inclusive educational environment.
As FAWEZA continues its advocacy, policy engagement, and program implementation, the organization remains dedicated to eliminating barriers and creating opportunities for persons with disabilities. By working with stakeholders, policymakers, and the private sector, FAWEZA is ensuring that education serves as a force for transformation in Zambia.
