FAWEZA Hands Over JUGWO Project Structures in Luapula

Chifunabuli & Milenge, Luapula Province – The JUGWO Project implemented by FAWEZA, with support from NORAD through NCA, has created safe spaces for girls and young women to thrive, fostering long-term positive change. FAWEZA remains committed to reinforcing these gains and supporting ongoing efforts in Chifunabuli and Milenge.

FAWEZA’s Monitoring & Evaluation and Finance teams completed the close-out monitoring of the Justice for Girls and Women (JUGWO) project, officially handing over its structures to local schools and District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) offices. This milestone prepares for the project’s final exit in December 2024.Funded by Norwegian Church Aid, JUGWO has empowered vulnerable girls and women since 2020 through mentorship, Safe Clubs, and financial literacy training for parents of teen mothers. The initiative has strengthened local responses to Gender-Based Violence and promoted girls’ rights.
