In a bid to uplift vulnerable children and youth through education, the Forum for African Women Educationalists of Zambia (FAWEZA), with generous support from the ZEBRA Trust, has been providing critical scholarship support to disadvantaged learners across Central and Lusaka Provinces. This initiative spans the primary, secondary, and tertiary education levels, ensuring that access to education goes hand in hand with academic completion and success.

For primary and secondary school learners, FAWEZA supplies uniforms, books, and other essential learning materials items that many families in underserved communities struggle to afford. At the tertiary level, FAWEZA prioritizes the timely payment of university tuition fees, helping selected students stay focused on their academic goals without the stress of financial uncertainty.
Most recently, FAWEZA’s impact was felt in Chitambo District of Central Province, where a dedicated team visited schools in and around Kasanka National Park. Students from Miseshi, Mpelembe, Kafinda, and Lusenga Secondary Schools received school bags, books, pens, mathematics sets, calculators, and menstrual hygiene packs simple yet powerful tools that will help learners stay in school and perform better.

By addressing the practical barriers that hinder education, particularly for girls, FAWEZA continues to lead the way in promoting gender equity and ensuring that no child is left behind. This ongoing support reaffirms FAWEZA’s commitment to creating opportunities for vulnerable learners and transforming education into a tool for empowerment and long-term change.
