On October 11 ,2024, the International Day of the Girl Child, invited learners from Kamulanga Secondary School in Lusaka to step into top leadership roles such as acting Executive Director and other senior management roles. This symbolic takeover mirrored global initiatives like #GirlsTakeover, giving real girls real leadership experience to challenge stereotypes and showcase their potential.

This initiative is deeply aligned with FAWEZA’s broader mission, to transform Zambia’s education system into one that recognizes and responds to girls’ specific needs. FAWEZA also runs Gender‑Responsive Pedagogy (GRP) training, mainly  aimed at dismantling classroom bias and promoting inclusive teaching practices.
